Birthday gifts for oldies and seniors

All of my life, I've had a problem knowing what to buy for my older friends and relatives.
They have everything for goddness sakes!

Well, now I'm getting older, and although I do have lots of things, I still enjoy receiving a gift, especially on my birthday.

Here's the thing though,  I now prefer the inexpensive, but well thought out gifts that the younger generation would probably snub.

For instance, what could be nicer than a pot of home made preserve, with a pretty gingham cover and a little hand written note from the sender?
If you really wanted to push the boat out, a nice jam spoon to go with it would be very acceptable.

These days, I do have trouble reaching for things, either from the floor or up in a cupboard.
I never was very tall anyway, so I was really pleased when I received one of those hand grabs that are readily available. It's made my life so much easier and is never far away.

Egg cups, they are always too darned small! The size of eggs in the convenience stores has grown ever bigger, yet the egg cups don't seem to have changed at all.
So a larger diameter egg cup would be my idea of breakfast heaven.

The winter's on it's way, what better way to spend the evenings than curled up with a good book or the tv cuddling a nice hot water bottle with a super soft fluffy cover. My idea of winter bliss.

My eyes are not what they were either, but I saw a really neat gadget online that clips under a book. It has a light and a magnifying glass that slides down over the pages. What a boon for tired eyes.

I may be getting on, but I still love my computer, and I saw a really funky looking mouse that changes colour all the time. I'm hoping someone will maybe get it for me sometime soon. A bright, good quality mouse mat would make the ensemble just the perfect gift.

When I'm cooking, I just love to add fresh Basil, Parsley, Thyme, Oregano and Mint.  What wouldn't I give to have some pretty pots of those in my kitchen. I just never think to get them for myself, but they would be really acceptable to me as a birthday or Christmas gift, and a really thoughtful touch would be a pretty little plastic tray to stand them on so I can water them without making a mess on my worktop.

My grip is definitely weaker than it was, but I spotted a battery operated can opener and a jar opener.
They would help me so much in my daily life.

And last, but not least, I really want a wind up torch. Just think, I would never have to but a torch battery again, just turn the handle and off it would go, amazing.

Now, I just have to hope that my nearest & dearest read this blog page!

Naughty but nice birthday cards!

I like a good laugh don't you?
It's a great healer for all sorts of ills & it makes you forget your troubles.
When I receive a greeting card, particularly on my birthday, I always enjoy the one with the innuendo, the double meaning. Not too rude or vulgar, but a 'nudge nudge' type of birthday card.
I'm sure most people feel the same, although perhaps some wouldn't admit to it.
I have a really funny card coming up soon that I'm sure will bring a smile to most faces, I'll put it on this greeting card blog when it's done.
Meanwhile, for all you senior oldies out there, how about this card that is now available with a poem about Spring Chickens!

Were you born in February?

February is such a cold month usually, so I don't expect you celebrate your birthday with a picnic, unless that is, you live in the southern hemisphere, in which case, this will sound like a load of tosh!
Anyway, for those of us with a birthday in February, who are not fortunate to live in warmer climes, how can we celebrate the occasion without freezing to death?
Well, if you're young & active, or even if you're old & active, why not take the family or friends & go ten pin bowling?  There's usually a bar & if you're really lucky, some half decent food to be had too.
It's  a good laugh, great exercise & a marvellous way to have a good time with those you love best.
So, if your birthday is in February, bowl 'em over!
Happy Birthday

I have made loads of new cards for your photos!

Hello and a very Happy New Year to you.
It was rather a quiet and uneventful holiday Chez Inkflo, so I took the time to make some extra greeting cards that I hope you will really love.
Photo Cards are the thing at the moment, you can just fit in your favourite pic and off you go!
You can of course just keep the card as is, with the pre-placed photo, but how nice is it to send say a Valentine's card to your new love with a picture of yourself on the front?
There are cards for all holidays and occasions, humor, sympathy, photo cards, anything you like.
Why not have a quick look and if you think they are worth leaving me a testimonial then all the better... and thank you.

Greetings cards for birthday month

Hello and welcome to my page about birthday cards for birth month.
Whether you need a birthday card for June or January, I have made a bright and cheerful series of birthday cards for every month of the year.
For instance, if you need to send a birthday card for someone with a June birthday, then this card ticks all the boxes for the bright and sunny month of June...
Then again, perhaps the birth month is in the winter when it's cold and miserable, well you don't have to send a miserable looking card, take a look at this January birthday card...
The inner text reads, so it must be your birthday, but the great thing with these cards is, you can delete the inner verse, add your own or leave them blank, so they could be equally suited to any event for that month.
You just add what you want, for instance, It's May (inside text... That means we shall see you very soon.)
Whether you are looking for a birthday card, anniversary card or a greeting card for a very unusual occasion such as congratulations on your first parachute jump, orcongratulations on making a hot air balloon flight, you're sure to find them here...
http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/chezinkflo
... and what's more, you can have them posted direct to the recipient at no extra cost. Shipping is fast and the print quality unsurpassed.
There's a vast array of greeting cards to choose from and whatever occasion you have coming up, I'm sure you'll find the perfect paper greeting card here.
Have a great holiday.

Birthday Humor

What do you look for in a humorous birthday card?
Perhaps it's the "nudge nudge, wink wink" type of humor, or maybe  the slightly insulting but we think it's funny joke!
Me, I prefer gentle humor in a birthday greeting card, such as this one...

I don't like to be very rude to the recipient, and I generally know who I can poke fun at, but most people like a good laugh and receiving a funny birthday card is very popular.
I think it's particularly true when it's a fiftieth birthday card or a sixtieth card, always a milestone & a time for hilarity with some people.
Of course, it can be a more unusual birthday card, take for instance this birthday card for male twins. It's a card that's perfect for one male twin to send to the other, not rude or vulgar, but amusing just the same...

I love to receive humorous greetings cards & I'm sure you do too!
